This was an interesting weekend: It was our one year anniversary living in Denver!
One year ago, we decided to drive from New Jersey to Colorado, instead of flying. We started our journey on a Wednesday, April 28th at 5am and drove a minimum of 450 miles a day. We decided to use the trip and make the best of it, so we would leave everyday early in the morning, in order to reach one of our chose stop cities and be able to enjoy the town.
I spent a considerable amount of time selecting hotels, restaurants and what we should visit in our short stays in Cleveland, Chicago, Des Moines, Lincoln and our first day in Denver. I can say that we ate really, really well during the whole journey, with the help of tips from by bestie (her husband is from Cleveland) and from Urban Spoon!
I'll be sure to save that itinerary, in case friends ask for tips on an {almost} cross country trip!
Here are a few pictures of our adventure:
{Cleveland, OH}
{Chicago, IL}
{Des Moines, IA}
{Our view of the mountains from our apartment, in Denver, CO}
{An ironic sign that says: Welcome to Colorful Colorado}
To celebrate, we decided to have dinner in two local restaurants we had never tried before: a Vietnamese place that's really close to home: Pho' 79 and went downtown to try one of the cities tapas bar: The 9th Door.
