When we moved to Denver, we decided to drive. I thought it was a great idea: we would take a few days off, enjoy been alone and together on the road, have time to digest the idea that from now on it would be only the two of us and, in the process, enjoy a few American cities.
Below you can find details from the itinerary. We left North Jersey at 5am and reached Cleveland around 12pm, that was ~454 miles in one day and we did not stop anywhere before reaching Cleveland.
One of my biggest difficulties planning this trip was that were absolutely no blogs or travel information about driving cross-crountry on Rte. 80. That was a big surprise and I really would have enjoyed reading about other people's experiences, getting tips about interesting sights and places to stop.
I hope our itineraries can help other travelers who are leaving the northeast and trying to reach the rockies.
