It's summer in Denver!

This weekend the temperature skyrocketed in Denver and we decided to put our new patio furniture together. We got new patio furniture back in November, while it was cold and the prices were low and waited until now, so we can really enjoy our night outside, with cold drinks and weekends with barbecues and friends!

Happy Mother's Day!

It's mother's day and I wish I could be closer to my mom on this day! Hopefully, I get to spend her birthday with her! Here is a picture that, to me, really represents my mother: she loves trees. And she loves climbing on trees! She spent part of her day on top of this tree watching concerts in Chicago!

Happy mother's day, Mama! I'll see you soon!

New Orleans, LA

We will be heading to New Orleans in the end of the month and I can't wait! I know I have just returned from vacation, but this will be (probably) our last trip until later in the year. We have decided to spend this summer discovering Colorado. We live in a beautifu, gigantic state and I have not had the chance to see much of it yet. So, our plans are short, quick trips to great Colorado cities!

Anyway, New Orleans is on of my favorite places in the US. I love how it looks like Brazil in so many ways. There is music and color everywhere, the people are friendly and the food: amazing! I can't wait to return to New Orleans and enjoy the beauty of the place. I'm currently working on our itinerary and using the Design*Sponge New Orleans city guide in order to include some great design stores in the area.

Here are a few pictures from my first trip to New Orleans, in 2005 (right during Katrina, by the way)!

One year in Denver! - Part II

Our home has constantly changed during these 12 months we spent in Denver. I was taking a look at the pictures of how everything has evolved! We are so far from done and I feel like  we need a dramatic change to the apartment in order to be able to live here for another 14 months!

Calypso St Barth for Target

This past weekend I stopped by Target to check the new Calypso St. Barth collection for Go International and I was surprised with how fast all the pieces were selling out. The gold puff was sold out already online and in stores. The other pieces were going fast.

I chose a few favorites and brought them home:

One Year in Denver!

This was an interesting weekend: It was our one year anniversary living in Denver!

One year ago, we decided to drive from New Jersey to Colorado, instead of flying. We started our journey on a Wednesday, April 28th at 5am and drove a minimum of 450 miles a day. We decided to use the trip and make the best of it, so we would leave everyday early in the morning, in order to reach one of our chose stop cities and be able to enjoy the town.

I spent a considerable amount of time selecting hotels, restaurants and what we should visit in our short stays in Cleveland, Chicago, Des Moines, Lincoln and our first day in Denver. I can say that we ate really, really well during the whole journey, with the help of tips from by bestie (her husband is from Cleveland) and from Urban Spoon!
I'll be sure to save that itinerary, in case friends ask for tips on an {almost} cross country trip!

Here are a few pictures of our adventure:

{An ironic sign that says: Welcome to Colorful Colorado}

To celebrate, we decided to have dinner in two local restaurants we had never tried before: a Vietnamese place that's really close to home: Pho' 79 and went downtown to try one of the cities tapas bar: The 9th Door
